A Parisian Inspired Kitchen with a Colorful Personality

At the heart of the space sits the homeowner’s existing LaCornueFe range in Royal Blue with Satin Chrome. To bridge this bold centerpiece with the custom-colored powder coated and metal trimmed Rangecraft hood, Ulrich designer Julia Kleyman created a captivating backsplash. It features 11 distinctly colored Pratt & Larson ceramic tiles. The Jet Stream painted cabinetry, a Wood-Mode exclusive color, perfectly ties the room’s blue tones together. The result showcases multiple finishes and vibrant elements that come together in a lively and welcoming fashion.

Clever space planning, including reorienting the entry door to the bathroom, made way for a striking pantry, beautifully crafted in rich, dark-stained cherry wood and enhanced by classic hardware in a Bronze finish.

The formerly closed off layout was redesigned to encourage interaction between the cook and guests by removing the wall separating the dining room and kitchen. In its place, a new peninsula with kitchen-side storage was added, while upper storage is provided by an airy, open polished chrome “cage” with glass shelving.

The client’s heirloom grandfather clock was preserved, expertly restored, and given a secure, dignified place in the home’s dining room - tucked away from high-traffic areas while remaining in clear view of the dining table.

Crafted for elegant glassware storage, the tall, dark wood cabinet features English Flemish glass inserts that exude timeless charm. Perfectly paired with the vintage grandfather clock, the piece ties the entire room together, creating a look that feels grounded, intentional, and deeply connected to the home’s history.

The bathroom, adjacent to the kitchen was inspired by the homeowner’s love of Vincent van Gogh’s paintings and a desire to incorporate rich blue and yellow tones. Deep blue ceramic tile, striking Blue Bahia granite, and a stained custom Wood-Mode vanity bring this vision to life. The result is a visually stunning space that meets the homeowners’ practical needs of having an accessible full bath on the first floor, while expressing their personal style.

Wall-mounted faucets were selected specifically to maximize the visible surface of the stunning Blue Bahia stone. The countertop's custom double-rim edge profile introduces high-relief shadow lines for a thick, luxurious look, while whimsical patterned wallpaper adds a playful layer that reflects the clients’ unique style.

Designed as an architectural focal point, the arched shower opening serves as both a dramatic frame for the stone and a beautiful tribute to the master craftsmanship of the tile installer.

The Bathroom layout was modified to improve accessibility and safety. Attractive grab bars were added in both the shower and toilet areas.
