Design Details:  A balanced contrast of black, white and warm wood tones, dedicated coffee bar, custom hood, ribbed glass cabinet Inserts, floating shelves. 

The Backstory: When the homeowners decided to expand their home to create a new great room, they saw an opportunity to bring their dream kitchen to life—with high-end appliances for a passionate home chef, a dedicated coffee bar, and a fresh, contemporary feel. The design balances elevated style with superior functionality while opening the kitchen to the new space. Warm wood finishes, a defining trend in today’s interiors, strongly influenced the overall look and feel.

High-performance functionality is woven throughout, with gourmet features like a Thermador double oven with side-swing doors for easy access. Adjacent, a tall countertop storage cabinet keeps large or heavy items, such as small appliances, conveniently accessible yet hidden from view.

A custom hood with matching wood trim establishes a clean, linear aesthetic, echoed by floating shelves that extend the horizontal lines while maintaining an open, airy feel. Together, these elements create a cohesive modern composition, with the shelves providing a beautiful focal point for displaying personal items.

Custom glass door inserts and dark-painted framing on the coffee bar’s upper cabinets add drama and distinction while visually tying the space to the run of tall black cabinets on the opposite side of the room.
